Global Settings: Portal Settings

Approximate read time: 4 minutes

The Settings > Portal page controls organization-wide settings for your candidate portal. These settings apply across all jobs and portals in your organization. They are separate from job-specific portal setup (found under each job's portal setup) and from visual branding (found under Settings > Branding).

Only users with the Admin role can access this page.

How to get there

  1. In the left sidebar, click Settings.

  2. Under Settings, click Portal.

  3. The page title at the top reads Portal Settings.

General settings

All options on this page are grouped under a section called General settings.

Days after rejection candidates can access portal

This setting controls how many days after a candidate is rejected they can still sign in to the portal. Choose a number from 0 to 30 days.

  • 0 days means rejected candidates lose portal access right away.

  • A higher number gives rejected candidates more time to view their portal before access is removed.

If a rejected candidate tries to sign in after this window has passed, they will not be able to access the portal. See Troubleshooting: Portal Magic Links if you need help with candidate login issues.

To change this setting, click the pencil icon next to the row, select a value from the dropdown, and save.

Disable showing interviewers in portal

When this toggle is turned on (shown as Yes), interviewer names and details are hidden from candidates when they view upcoming interviews in the portal.

When the toggle is off (shown as No), candidates can see who their interviewers are.

This toggle saves immediately when you flip it — you do not need to click a separate save button.

Auto archive portal when job is closed

When this toggle is turned on, candidate.fyi automatically archives a job's portal when that job is marked as closed or archived in your ATS. Archiving takes the portal offline so candidates can no longer access it for that job.

When the toggle is off, closing or archiving a job in your ATS does not automatically archive the portal. You would need to manage the portal status manually.

This toggle saves immediately when you flip it.

Social links

Add links to your organization's social media profiles. These appear in the footer of the candidate portal so candidates can visit your company's social pages.

You can add URLs for:

  • Facebook

  • Twitter

  • Instagram

  • LinkedIn

  • YouTube

  • TikTok

  • Glassdoor

All social link fields are optional. Leave a field blank if you do not want that platform shown. Each URL must be a valid web address (for example, starting with https://).

To edit social links, click the pencil icon on the Social links row. Enter or update the URLs, then save. All social links are saved together in one step. If any URL is invalid, you will see an error message and the changes will not be saved.

When no URL is set for a platform, that row shows Not set and the icon will not appear in the candidate portal.

Saving your changes

When a setting is saved successfully, a green confirmation message appears in the top-right corner: Settings Updated Successfully.

If something goes wrong, an error message appears instead. For social links, invalid URLs are flagged before saving.
