Domain Verification Guide
To ensure the security and deliverability of emails sent through candidate.fyi on behalf of your organization, it's essential to verify your domain. This involves adding a DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) record and a Return-Path CNAME record to your domain's DNS settings. Verifying these records is a critical step in authenticating your domain, helping to prevent email spoofing and ensuring your communications reliably reach candidates.
Steps to Verify Your Domain
Step 1: Obtain Your DKIM Key & Return-Path CNAME
Action Required: Contact your candidate.fyi point of contact to request your unique DKIM key and Return-Path CNAME. These are essential for the verification process and unique to your domain to maintain secure email communication.
Step 2: Access Your DNS Settings
Action Required: Log into your domain host or DNS provider's dashboard (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc.).
Location: Find the section where you can manage DNS settings or add new DNS records, typically labeled as "DNS Management" or "Advanced DNS."
Step 3: Add the DKIM TXT Record & Return-Path CNAME Record
Action Required:
In the DNS management area, add a new TXT record for DKIM verification and a CNAME record for the Return-Path.
Record Details:
DKIM TXT Record:
Record Type: TXT
Hostname: Provided by candidate.fyi (typically follows a format specific to DKIM authentication).
Value: The DKIM key from your candidate.fyi contact (a unique, long string of characters for digital signature).
Return-Path CNAME:
Record Type: CNAME
Hostname: Usually “return-path” or a similar term specified by candidate.fyi.
Target/Value: Provided by candidate.fyi (ensures email responses are routed correctly and improves deliverability).
Step 4: Verification Process
Wait Time: After adding the records, DKIM verification will generally complete within 48 hours as DNS changes propagate across the internet.
Completion: No further action is needed. candidate.fyi will automatically verify your DKIM and Return-Path CNAME records. Once verified, your domain will be fully authenticated for secure email delivery through the candidate.fyi platform.
