Connecting candidate.fyi MCP

Overview

candidate.fyi provides a remote MCP server that lets supported AI tools, such as Claude, connect to candidate.fyi and use approved recruiting and scheduling tools.

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is a standard way for AI assistants to connect with external systems. When you connect the candidate.fyi MCP server, your AI assistant can help you find scheduling information and take supported scheduling actions through the tools made available by candidate.fyi.

The candidate.fyi MCP server URL is:

Before you begin

Make sure you have:

  • Access to candidate.fyi.
  • Access to an AI product that supports remote MCP connectors.
  • Permission to add custom connectors in that AI product. For Claude Team and Enterprise plans, an owner may need to add the connector before members can connect it.

Authentication

The candidate.fyi MCP connector uses OAuth authentication.

After you add the connector, you will be prompted to authenticate. Complete the OAuth flow when prompted. You should only need to authenticate once during connector setup, although you may be asked to reconnect if your session expires or access changes.

Add candidate.fyi as a custom Claude connector

Claude supports custom connectors for remote MCP servers. To add the candidate.fyi MCP connector:

Claude Team and Enterprise plans

An owner should:

  1. Open Admin settings in Claude.
  2. Go to Connectors.
  3. Click Add custom connector.
  4. Enter the candidate.fyi MCP server URL:

  1. If Claude shows advanced OAuth settings, leave them unchanged unless your candidate.fyi or Claude administrator gives you specific values.
  2. Click Add.

After the connector is added, members can:

  1. Open Settings in Claude.
  2. Go to Connectors.
  3. Find the candidate.fyi connector. It may be labeled as a custom connector.
  4. Click Connect.
  5. Complete the OAuth authentication flow when prompted.

Claude Free, Pro, and Max plans

  1. Open Settings in Claude.
  2. Go to Connectors.
  3. Click Add custom connector.
  4. Enter the candidate.fyi MCP server URL:

  1. If Claude shows advanced OAuth settings, leave them unchanged unless your candidate.fyi or Claude administrator gives you specific values.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Complete the OAuth authentication flow when prompted.

Enable the connector in a Claude chat

After the connector is connected, enable it in the Claude conversation where you want to use it.

In Claude, use the + button in the chat interface and select Connectors. From there, enable the candidate.fyi connector for the conversation.

Available candidate.fyi tools

The candidate.fyi MCP connector currently provides the following tools:

  • find_availability
  • get_me
  • list_scheduling_calendars
  • schedule_interview
  • search_candidates
  • search_interview_rounds
  • search_interviewers
  • search_interviews
  • update_interview

These tools are designed to help with candidate search, interviewer and interview round lookup, availability checks, scheduling calendar lookup, interview scheduling, and interview updates.

Using the connector safely

Some MCP tools may retrieve candidate or scheduling information or take scheduling actions. Before allowing an AI assistant to run a tool:

  • Review the action the assistant is requesting.
  • Confirm the candidate, interview round, interviewer, date, time, and calendar details are correct.
  • Avoid approving actions if the request is unclear or if the assistant is using the wrong candidate or interview.
  • Follow your organization's policies for handling candidate data.

Troubleshooting

I do not see an option to add a custom connector

Your Claude plan or workspace role may not allow you to add custom connectors. If you use a Team or Enterprise workspace, ask a Claude workspace owner to add the connector from Admin settings > Connectors.

Authentication does not complete

Try the following:

  1. Confirm you are using the correct MCP server URL: https://mcp.candidate.fyi/mcp.
  2. Restart the connector setup and complete the OAuth flow again.
  3. Make sure you are signing in with the correct account.
  4. If the issue continues, contact candidate.fyi support and include the error message you received.

Claude cannot use candidate.fyi tools in a chat

Confirm that the connector has been added, connected, and enabled for the current chat. In Claude, connectors can be enabled or disabled per conversation.
