When you first join candidate.fyi, your User Profile is where your name, photo, and other details that candidates and teammates see. It is also the home for personal settings like calendar connections, scheduling preferences, and notifications.
This guide walks through setting up your profile as a new user.
Open your profile
Click the profile icon (a person circle) at the bottom of the left sidebar. This opens your profile area.
On the left, you will see a menu of profile pages. The first item, User Profile, is where you fill in your personal information. Other pages in this menu cover scheduling, notifications, and integrations — covered briefly at the end of this guide.
Set up User Profile
On the User Profile page, the page title at the top is Profile. You can sign out from here using the Sign out button in the top-right corner.
Your profile is organized into three sections. To edit a field, move your mouse over the row and click the pencil icon. When you are done, click the check mark to save or the X to cancel.
Basic Information
Profile Image — Upload your profile picture. Hover over the image to edit or remove it.
Role — Shows your access level in candidate.fyi (for example, Admin, Editor, or Viewer). This field cannot be edited here.
Email — Shows the email address tied to your account, as it appears in the ATS. This field cannot be edited here.
Name — Your name will be as it appears in the ATS.
Pronouns — Optionally add the pronouns you use so candidates know how to refer to you.
If your organization uses Slack, you may see a Sync from Slack button at the top of this section. Click it to pull your name and photo from Slack into candidate.fyi.
Profile Details
These details are what candidates see when they are interviewing with you.
Title — Your job title (for example, "Recruiting Coordinator").
About — A short description about yourself.
Signature — Your email signature, used in scheduling communications you send through candidate.fyi. This is optional.
Professional Information
Departments — Select the departments you belong to.
Interests — Add interests or hobbies that may appear on your candidate-facing profile.
LinkedIn URL — Add a link to your LinkedIn profile. The link must start with http:// or https://.
When you save changes, you will see a confirmation message that your profile was updated.
Other profile pages to set up
Depending on your role and which features your organization has turned on, you may also see some or all of the following pages in your profile menu. Not every user will see every page.
My Booking Links — Create and manage personal booking links for scheduling.
Interview Center — View and manage your upcoming and completed interviews.
Interview Companion — Configure settings for the Interview Companion.
Interviewing Preferences — Set your availability, working hours, timezone, and other scheduling preferences.
Scheduler Settings — Connect your calendar, manage sender emails, and configure scheduler activity.
Notification Preferences — Choose which pulse and scheduling notifications you receive.
Experience Center — Available to certain roles; manage experience pulse requests.
Follow Ups — Manage interviewer follow-up settings.
Under an Integrations heading in the profile menu, you may also see:
Google — Connect your Google Calendar.
Zoom — Connect your Zoom account for video interviews.
Microsoft — Connect your Microsoft/Outlook calendar (available when your organization uses Microsoft sign-in).
If you are a new user waiting for approval
If your account has not yet been approved by an admin, you will land on your profile area after signing in. Your profile menu is limited to User Profile, Interviews (or Interview Center), Interviewing Preferences, and Scheduler Settings. Once an admin approves your account, you will have access to the full candidate.fyi application.
